Bill clients yourself

Send your own invoices from StudioCue — with or without QuickBooks — and keep track of what's paid.

StudioCue can issue your invoices itself: numbered, with a PDF, emailed to the client with how to pay. With QuickBooks connected you choose job by job.

Steps

  1. Open Studio settings and choose Invoices and payments.
  2. Add how clients pay you — Zelle, checks, a pay link — and your business details. Tap Save.
  3. Tap Preview a sample invoice to see exactly what clients get.
  4. With QuickBooks, choose Bill it myself or Bill through QuickBooks on each job's Booking tab.
  5. When a bill is ready, Today shows it: Email it, or I sent it myself. Record the payment when it arrives.

What happens next

Every bill — yours and QuickBooks' — is on Invoices, with what's owed, what's late and a CSV for your bookkeeper.

Good to know

  • A deposit is never taxed; your sales tax goes on the bill that completes the price.
  • You can delete an invoice record from Invoices; a paid one leaves a note that it was settled, with no amounts.

Words to know

Retainer
The payment that holds the date. With the signed agreement, it's what turns a job Booked.
Final balance
What's left after the retainer. It's billed 28 days before the event when it can be, or from Today; with autopay on, a saved card pays it.
